An affluent woman visits the cemetery one day and invites Tayebeh to her home located in the richest part of Tehran's uptown far away from the cemetery. This invitation is important for Tayebeh since she is brought among the living for a certain period. She sets out for the city the next day. An old woman all alone in a city of bedlam! Will Tayebeh return once again to the cemetery?

Production note:

Director Mehrdad Farid used to be a reformist journalist who was forced into filmmaking after the newspapers he worked for were closed down one after the other. "Peace among the Dead" is his first fiction film after having made several short documentaries. Despite the state bureaucracy that such filmmakers usually face with, Farid made this low-budget movie through the limited funds made available to him by a number of fellow journalists.
